DAY 1:

  • Enjoy the great outdoors at Garden in the Woods. This naturalistic botanic garden showcases New England’s native beauty, featuring more than 1,000 species of plants across 45 acres sculpted by retreating glaciers into eskers and steep-sided valleys, with a brook, pond, and wetlands. If you are visiting on May 8th, you can delight in their annual Twilight Trilliums event where you will have the opportunity to experience some of spring’s most fleeting blooms in the beauty of dusk.  Enjoy after-hours access and treat yourself to curated food and beverages provided by Trillium brewing and 99 Plus Cellars.
  • Spend the night in the iconic castle at the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Framingham. Part of the tri-brand hotel that includes the Renaissance and TownePlace Suites, this beautiful property was recently refurbished and boasted comfortable contemporary rooms perfect for your outdoorsy spring getaway.

DAY 2:

  • Discover more than 900 exotic animals from around the world at Southwick’s Zoo. From the wide-open African Plains to the lush Rainforest Room, every path leads to an unforgettable wildlife moment. Lions, giraffes, white rhinos, tigers, monkeys, sloths, and so many more are waiting to be discovered.  Soar above the zoo on their Soaring Eagle Zipline or take a relaxing train ride around their scenic North American exhibit and native wetlands where you can get a closer look at the elk and trumpeter swans.  If you happen to be in town on May 23rd, join the zoo for Turtle Day, where you can spend the day learning about their various species of turtles and tortoises.
  • After a full day of adventure at the zoo, wind down with a hearty meal at Galliford’s Restaurant & Tavern, a delicious spot conveniently located right on the zoo grounds. Try one of their amazing oven fired pizzas such as the street corn which features oven-roasted Spanish seasoned corn, red onions, jalapenos, cilantro, cheddar and cotija cheese and chipotle crema.

Don’t miss Glass in Flight at golden hour this summer with extended Garden hours on Wednesday and Thursday evenings!
  • With the weather turning and the grass turning green, stop into Hopkinton State Park or Ashland State Park to walk their trails and breath in some fresh spring air!
