DAY 2:
Lace up your hiking shoes and take in the stunning fall colors along the 7 miles of scenic trails at Callahan State Parkin Framingham. Keep an eye out for local wildlife, including snapping turtles, white-tailed deer, and red-tailed hawks.
Enjoy a hearty lunch at Longfellow’s Wayside Inn, with comforting favorites like prime rib dip and classic chicken pot pie. Then walk the famous grounds where you can visit the schoolhouse in “Mary Had a Little Lamb”—the charming one-room Redstone Schoolhouse built in 1798 sits among the backdrop of quintessential New England fall—plus, take photos by the historic Grist Mill. Did you know that this mill is the one featured in Pepperidge Farm’s logo? The company used to mill their flour here! This one is a replica built a hundred years ago by Henry Ford when he owned the property and is a copy of the 18th century original.
