Family Time Fun Itinerary

3 days/2 nights

Day 1, Friday:

  • Start your day at Rhapsody’s Victorian Coffee House, a cozy and artistic café that has a unique signature flair. Be sure to try a fresh crepe, muffin, or pastry while you drink locally-roasted coffee.
  • After breakfast, follow the Franklin Downtown Partnership map along the Ladybug Trail. This is a great scavenger hunt to find painted ladybugs on various buildings throughout the town–while you’re on the hunt, look for other public art, including downtown murals and the newest project: painted electrical boxes around town.
  • Make your way to Mac City for lunch and enjoy some delicious gourmet mac-and-cheese.
  • Stop for gelato at Applause on your way to the Franklin Public Library to see what fun programming they have going on for the kids.
  • Wander through the shops of the Franklin Cultural District, including Escape Into Fiction, Greco Design, Pete’s Nerd Emporium, and many others.
  • Once you’re shopped-out, head to the Franklin Town Common for the Franklin Farmer’s Market. Listen to the live music, browse the local goodies, and enjoy some time in the sun!
  • Check into your room at the Hampton Inn before getting dinner at Ichigo Ichie, where you can experience the fun and flavors of traditional Japanese hibachi cuisine.

Day 2, Saturday:

  • Have breakfast at Jr’s Diner in Milford, an old-school breakfast joint with great food the whole family will enjoy.
  • Then take a bike ride on the Rail Trail from Milford to Holliston, making sure you stop at the Candy Cottage to obtain the necessary energy you’ll need for the rest of the day.
  • Peruse the shops of Holliston and make sure you check out Aesop’s Fable, Fiske’s General Store, and Kamala Boutique.
  • When all of your shopping has worked up an appetite, head to Bertucci’s Italian Restaurant for lunch. You can’t go wrong with one of their pizzas!
  • Drive back to Milford for an afternoon of fun at PiNZ Bowl and test your skills at bowling, laser tag, and arcade games. You can grab dinner at the PiNZ restaurant and continue the fun as long as you please.

Day 3, Sunday:

  • On your last day, eat breakfast at the Muffin House Café in Medway. Enjoy a delicious homemade muffin (they’re almost as big as your head!) or breakfast sandwich at this fast-growing MetroWest restaurant chain.
  • Once you’re all fueled up, head to Boston Paintball and challenge the kids to a game. Explore the versatile movie set Apocalypse City and use strategy to outsmart your opponents. Don’t end up the most colorful one!
  • Doragon Ramen is a great choice for lunch with their authentic ramen bowls.
  • After lunch, try your hand at an escape room at Puzzle Escape, which has many creative rooms for all ages and levels, from beginner to advanced players. Work fast so you can break out!
  • On your way out of town, swap stories about everyone’s favorite adventure, and make plans to do it all again soon! Post pictures online with #WeAreMetroWest so we can see how much fun you had!
