Natick

Massachusetts

Located just 10 miles west of Boston, the historic Town of Natick offers a perfect blend of small-town charm and world-class cultural, retail, and recreational amenities.

Natick Days PC Town StaffOriginally home to the Nipmuc, Massachusetts, and Wampanoag peoples, Natick was founded in 1651 by the Praying Indians, a group of Indigenous people converted to Christianity by English Reverend John Eliot. The town was mostly agrarian until the 19th century when it industrialized, becoming the site of the first baseball factory in 1858 and the third-largest shoe producer in the country by 1880. After WWII, Natick transitioned into a thriving commuter suburb of Boston.

Today, Natick’s historic center remains the heart of the community. Natick Center features charming Victorian architecture, the Town Common, small businesses, and a vibrant arts scene. Events like Natick Nights, Natick Days, and the year-round Farmers Market bring the community together, and the Boston Marathon famously passes through the downtown at Mile 10.

Boston Marathon PC Town StaffNorth of the center lies the Golden Triangle, MetroWest’s premier shopping destination. Anchored by the Natick Mall, Sherwood Plaza, and Shopper’s World, this area boasts over 100 shops, restaurants, and entertainment options.

Natick also has a fast-growing life sciences and tech corridor along Route 9. Companies like MathWorks, Exponent, ABI Labs, and Cognex have made Natick a hub for innovation and research, drawing talent from across Greater Boston.

Outdoor enthusiasts can explore Hunnewell Town Forest, swim at Memorial Beach on Dug Pond, rent kayaks at Cochituate State Park, or visit Natick Community Organic Farm. History lovers can explore the Natick Historical Society, Eliot Church, and Belkin Lookout Farm, one of the oldest farms in the country.

Cochituate State Park PC Town StaffEasily accessible by Route 9, I-90, and two MBTA stations, Natick is a vibrant community rich in history and opportunity.
