Day 1:

  • History Lovers, Unite! Start your journey exploring Sudbury, where history lives on through the town’s remarkable “Witness Houses.” In 1776, more than 300 homes stood in Sudbury. Today, 34 of those homes remain—standing as enduring witnesses to the founding of America and the town’s unique 01776 zip code. Visit the Sudbury Historical Society for a complete list of Sudbury Witness Houses 
  • Travel to the Worcester Art Museum to take in “Ben Franklin’s Musical Curiosity” by the Musicians of the Old Post Road. This program focuses on Anne Louise Brillon de Jouy, a musician, composer and salon hostess living in Paris while Benjamin Franklin served as ambassador to France Experience the works of Brillon de Jouy, Franklin and other Americans composing at the time of the American Revolution.
  • Enjoy a little one-night getaway at the Inn at Fireside Tavern Sherborn. Treasure the adorable, thoughtfully designed guest rooms that are located above a vibrant tavern.

 

Day 2:

  • Take a drive down to Old Sturbridge Village to take in one of their events commemorating America’s 250th On May 3rd, experience Yankee Ingenuity with EAT. Culinary tradition and food production have long been a foundation of New England life. Amelia Simmons’s American Cookery (1796), America’s first cookbook, will be brought to life on hearths like those used in her era.  Witness the recipes and techniques that defined early American cooking, featuring distinctly regional ingredients like cornmeal, pumpkin, and cranberries that set American cuisine apart from its European roots.
