Staycation Family Adventure

5 days/4 nights

Day 1:

  • On your way to Marlborough, stop for some trail walking or snowshoeing around one of the many area state parks, including Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge, followed by a delicious lunch at Chill Kitchen & Bar.
  • In the afternoon, take the kids to paint their own pottery at Plaster Fun Time

Day 2:

  • Spend the whole day at the Apex Entertainment Center indoor amusement park, where the kids can go wild with go karts, laser tag, bumper cars, a ropes course, bowling, mini golf, sports simulators, an obstacle course, inflatables, a ball pit, and more! And with a wide menu that appeals to even the pickiest eaters, you don’t even have to leave to find lunch!

Day 3:

  • Start the day with indoor mini golf at Trombetta’s Farm, an 18-hole course that’s challenging enough to entertain all ages and is surrounded by beautiful plants, 2 waterfalls and a pond.
  • Head over to Solomon Pond Mall for lunch, a ride on the Island Carousel, and a wander of the shops.
  • Try Hillside Grill in Northborough for dinner–we hear the gyros are divine!

Day 4:

  • Take a one-of-a-kind kids’ aerial class at Earth & Aerial Yoga in Hudson, followed by lunch at Railtrail Flatbread, where the food is great and the ambiance is super cool.
  • After lunch, try your hand at an escape room at PuzzlEscape, which has creative different rooms from entry level to advanced and for various ages. Work fast, and you may even be able to fit in a swim before dinner!
  • Worked up an appetite? Don’t miss Firefly’s BBQ for dinner…it’s fantastic!

Day 5:

  • Drive to the Framingham Centre Common Cultural District for a unique scavenger hunt of their “Many Cultures, One Heart” public art project (find an interactive map of all the hearts here or a downloadable version here)…make sure you post some selfies of your progress with #WeAreMetroWest!
  • For lunch, try some mouthwatering Colombian food at Pueblito Paisa, then head down to Hopkinton Center for the Arts to see a show or art exhibition.
  • On your way out of town, swap stories about everyone’s favorite adventure, and make plans to do it all again soon!
